The Charles River Skatepark Interns

The creative process for the Charles River Skatepark has been fueled by the skaters of the Boston area who have been directly involved in the design process. Over the summer of 2007, two skaters got even further involved in the process of building the skatepark by interning with the Conservancy to help in the outreach and fundraising effort. The Charles River Skatepark Interns went to skate stores in the New England area to talk to skaters and promote involvement in the skatepark by signing up people for e-mail updates. They were also able to attend numerous events to reach out to skaters and raise awareness of the state of the Charles River Skatepark. Other efforts that the interns undertook were special project coordination and fundraising outreach.
